Following a sold out event in 2015 that featured the likes of Ball Park Music and Thundamentals,The Cambridge are expanding on what was already a runaway success to bring punters a NYE they’ll never forget. How’s that, you might ask? The team at The Cambo have well and truly taken the phrase “bigger is better” to heart in 2016 – and have upped the stakes and size of the lineup, venue, and amenities for this year’s momumental shindig.
A huge ten acts will help Novocastrians ring in the New Year in style across two stages, with the addition of an indoor stage this year to facilitate easier access to services across the event. Melbourne MC Illy, the man behind smash hits ‘Papercuts‘ and ‘Tightrope‘ will lead the charge, along with Perth indie darlings San Cisco and electronic fan favourite The Kite String Tangle. Boo Seeka, one of the country’s most buzzed-about acts, will also join the genre-diverse lineup, as will folk icon Kim Churchill, Bootleg Rascal, Lyall Moloney, Jayteehazard and local legends Ravve Tapes. And that’s not all – PNAU (DJ Set) has just been added to close out the festivities.
With a delicious mix of the best local eats and treats on offer, punters can make sure the last meal they consume in 2016 is nothing short of a top-notch feed. For anyone in need of a break from the non stop bangers, they can also check out the range of market stalls and live art on offer to round out their NYE experience.
The Cambridge NYE Street Party gates will open at 6pm Saturday 31 December 2016, ending at 2am. Those who bought tickets to the 2015 event can access a presale for this year Wednesday (21st) morning from 9am AEST. General public tickets go on sale Thursday 22 September at 9am AEST.
