With multi-instrumentalists Kat Harley and Laura Bailey at the helm, MEZKO’s sound avoids cliche and defies easy labels with their melange of krautrock, synthesizers, found sounds, hypnotic vocals and post-punk riffs, anchored by taut, melodic bass lines riding over catchy, left field beats.
A regular fixture of Sydney radio stations with three well-received singles, MEZKO have grown a diverse, energetic fanbase through memorable live shows alongside the likes of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Slum Sociable, The Laurels, Gold Class and The Murlocs, and have stolen the show at events such as Volumes, Purple Sneakers x Vivid and Perth’s Disconnect Festival.
