Newcastle’s Rum Jungle have emerged as a serious player in one of the country’s most lively music scenes with a refreshing mix of reggae and rock, despite only being an established band for just over two years.
The four-piece group have developed a devoted fanbase off the back of their first two EPs Crazy Days (2017) and Sun & Smoke (2018), and have already shared the stage with the likes of Lime Cordiale, Peking Duk, and Hilltop Hoods. The band sold out their last hometown headline show in 2019 and joined the line-up of THIS THAT 2019. The band closed out the year alongside You Am I and JetsPlayJets for the official Newcastle city New Year’s Eve celebrations, further cementing themselves as a mainstay Novocastrian act.
Their most recent single ‘I See Red’ saw Rum Jungle take their sound to new heights with roaring vocal melodies and dynamic guitar runs, all while keeping the reggae-fusion sound their fanbase had fallen in love with to begin with.
